Supplies for Drawing Neurographica Online with Karla
Here’s what you’ll need to draw comfortably with me. Don’t worry if you don’t have everything yet — start with what you have and build your kit over time.
Markers and Pens
• Black fine liner — something that gives you a clean, even line for structure and detail.
• Thicker black marker — for bolder lines and flow. I often use Sharpies or the black marker in my art kit.
Color Tools
• Pencil crayons (coloured pencils) — and a sharpener. Watercolour pencils are a lovely option too — soft and easy to blend.
• Text highlighters or art markers — for experimenting with color and layering. Art markers usually have a fine and broad tip, great for detail and shading. Text highlighters dry quickly and work well with pencil crayon layered on top.
Paper
• Drawing paper — Any smooth, medium-weight paper that doesn’t bleed through will work well.
• Journal or notebook or blank note paper — something to keep track of your notes, reflections, or insights as you draw.
A Note from Karla
If you find yourself without all the right supplies, don’t worry. Use what you have and draw anyway. The most important thing is to create, explore, and connect with the process.
